January 9, 2019

Every person with a passion, dream and motivation to achieve those dreams get their inspiration from people, who have not only achieved their dreams, but are also

the best in their professions. And as the SMCA academy is successfully leading children, who have a passion for chess, towards their dreams, it was a remarkable occasion, when the children of SMCA were blessed with the chance of playing an exhibition round of simultaneous chess at the  EKA IIFL Investment Managers Grand masters chess tournament  at the world trade centre, cuffee parade with none other than the extraordinary and scholar chess player , five times world chess champion and India's Pride,Vishwanathan Aanand.

The revolutionary Chess player became India’s first Grandmaster in 1988, and he held the FIDE World Chess Championship from 2000 to 2002. His progress in the world of chess changed the history of this sport in not only India, but all over the world. The progress of this champion was and still is an inspiration for children all over the nation. He has won many tournaments with undisputed efforts, which led him to become the World Champion in 2007. His efforts were then awarded with the India’s second highest civilian award, the Padma Vibhushan, making him the first sportsmen to receive the award.

Vishwanathan Anand  is a very big inspiration to the children who want to pursue their passion. And on 7 January 2019, the children of SMCA got a golden opportunity to meet their idol and play a round of chess with him. It was a magical moment, where the children got the chance to bask in the light of a champion and interact with him. It is always an uplifting moment to meet a champion, who has led India to the platform of victory, again and again.

This was one of the most important moments in the history of SMCA academy to witness the Scholar himself in his natural environment interacting with the ambitious children, who look up to him. This moment of an Idol guiding the children who want to become like him, was nothing less than pure, bright and gave a vision of success in the future of chess. The black and white world of Chess is more colorful because of such events taking place and encouraging the striving children to follow their passion and dreams. That a sport like chess is not only a sport but also a way of life that inspires a lot of people.

This was certainly a golden feather in the hat, as SMCA, was blessed to be in the presence of .Anand Vishwanathan, the Master of the world of chess.
