Dev Shah of Mumbai won the prestigious Maharashtra U-9 state championship with concluded yesterday at Aurangabad with a perfect score of 9/9. Dev, who has an international rating of whopping 1711 Elo points was the top seed at the Championship followed by Manish Kadam and Gaurang Bagwe of Mumbai.
Dev remained unbeaten in the championship and lifted the winners trophy with ease, manish kadam of mumbai and chandrani shlok of akola finished second and third with a score of 7.5 points each.
With this win dev is all set to represent Maharashtra at the Nationals which are to be held in Jalandhar, Punjab next month.
Dev is a student of Dhirubhai Ambani International School, and trains at SMCA, he is well known in the junior chess league as a World School's Champion and a TEDX conference speaker along with his other reputed achievements including silver medal at the world youth chess championship at greece.
